Denis 'Catfish' Miller is the new host of the Catfish and Kelsey show, your NEW wakin crew, on Q102, waking country music fans in Eastern Idaho and Western Wyoming Monday thru Friday at 6am!
Denis comes to Q102 from WYCT-FM in Pensacola, Florida although he’s a native of California thus the reason in getting some 1,300 miles closer to family in the sunshine state. WYCT, also known as Cat Country 98.7, was just named small market radio station of the year by the Academy of Country Music at their annual convention in Las Vegas on April 5, 2009.
As for the nickname Catfish, the story goes that Denis and his brother were lake fishers in California as kids, and their favorite spot was Lake Lopez in Arroyo Grande California. It was a GREAT spot for bluegill and crappie, which they caught all the time. Denis was the only one however, to pull a catfish out of that lake, and no one knew why. Ever since…he’s been known as ‘Catfish’!
Kelsey is a newcomer to morning radio, 2009 being her first year in the biz!!! She's a gorgeous, bubbly, vivacious and hilarious compliment to Catfish, always stickin it to the big guy when she can! Kelsey will tell you EXACTLY what she thinks and feels, and no one can stop her, especially not Catfish. Kelsey is a lifelong resident of Eastern Idaho and Western Wyoming, and knows of what she speaks! She's helping Catfish get to know Q Country!!! Kelsey gives you her 'daily drama' every morning at 6:50, tries to guess the celebrity birthdays at 7:20, and is the 'Queen of Q' when the Power of Q contest pops up at 7:40!
Oh, and she's the one who answers the phones, so watch out!
